Back in January, I came across a claim that JJ Abrams originally shot a different ending between Rey and Luke. The claim was Luke originally took the lightsaber from Rey and possibly hugged her from a user by the name of Dent on the awardswatch forums:

Something that greatly intrigues me about the Star Wars setting and the Force is the statistics of and mechanics Force sensitivity. We know a tiny number have the potential to become Jedi and the most will live their lives without ever seeing any overt evidence of its existence. However, there’s a relatively sizable number of people who are above average and below Jedi potential with consequences for all sorts of professions and statistics in large populations.
Author’s Note: In this article I am simply qualitatively applying population statistics to what we’ve been told and shown about Force sensitivity in the GFFA setting and make no judgement on whether the conclusions are thematically appropriate.

On behalf of the Shadow Council, I’m pleased to introduce a new member of the blogging team who’s making her debut post today: needsmoresprinkles! (She also goes by needs_more_sprinkles or sprinkles.)
Sprinkles is a freelance theater artist and graphic designer from Seattle, Washington. She became a Star Wars fan in her teenage years, after getting so grossed out by the tauntaun guts scene in The Empire Strikes Back when she was eight that she refused to watch the series for almost a decade. She is most interested in the myth and folklore roots of the series, particularly how it relates to the work of Joseph Campbell. She chose her username because she was making rainbow sprinkle Chex Mix the same day she started her reddit account, and the rest is history.
Let’s give her a warm welcome!

Instead of wading into that particular topic, however, I’d like to address a different part of the mystery surrounding Rey’s moniker. Namely, is her name really Rey after all?

With the recent outrage over the microtransactions in Battlefront II coming off its peak, I felt it necessary that I analyze what EA was attempting to do and what their plan is going forward.
And why this game will never be worth your money.

For this post I have attempted to take images from the trailers and behind the scenes footage and put them in chronological order and interspersed the images with my plot prediction for the Last Jedi.

I would like to say up front that I don’t think JJ’s statement in the commentary that Rey and Kylo haven’t met before TFA should be taken absolutely. So please don’t reply as though I’m not aware of what he said. Second, it does make some leaps that aren’t predicated on any information we currently have. It’s based on where I think the ST is going thematically. This incorporates ideas developed in the previous three sections.
