Summaries and links for all Star Wars Forces of Destiny episodes to date. This list is maintained on Star Wars Reference. Shout out to Reference librarian confederalis for assisting with filling out Season 2.

Episode 1: Sands of Jakku

Duration: 2:49
Summary: Rey sets out to bring BB-8 to her home, but they’re ambushed by a hungry metal-eating creature. Rey rescues BB-8 after the creature gets a hold of him and then placates it by giving it a large piece of scrap.
Significance: Demonstrates Rey’s compassion and self-reliance. It’s also apparent she’s subconsciously using the Force even before the awakening.

Episode 2: BB-8 Bandits

First aired on July 4, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:49
Summary: The Teedo she rescues BB-8 from in TFA returns greater numbers for the droid. Rey manages to shake two and lure the last to the creature she befriended in the previous episode, which promptly eats his swoop-bike.
Significance: Shows more of Rey’s resourcefulness.

Episode 3: Ewok Escape

First aired on July 5, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:34
Summary: Leia and Wicket come across some scout-troopers harassing several Ewoks. Leia suggests they help and Wicket manages to tie them up in a tree. When Wicket gets into trouble, Leia rescues him and knocks out the troopers. The Ewoks’ tribe recognizes her as a friend and gives her the dress from RotJ in gratitude.
Significance: This short ties up a minor loose end as to how Leia was accepted by the tribe and how she got the dress in RotJ.

Episode 4: The Padawan Path

First aired on July 6, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 3:04
Summary: Ahsoka is late to a ceremony honoring her progression as a Padawan, but stops to help a mother and child under attack by a malfunctioning droid. Although late for the ceremony, Yoda knowingly praises her.
Significance: Shows Ahsoka’s compassion and physical prowess and first shows how Padawans get their beads.

Episode 5: The Impostor Inside

Duration: 2:18 First aired on July 8, 2017 on YouTube
Summary: Ahsoka is helping Padme prepare for an Arthurian delegation and notices a breach of protocol, prompting the woman preparing the table to reveal herself as a bounty hunter and attempts to kill Padme. Ahsoka defends Padme and disarms the assassin, revealed to be Cato Parasitti, but she arms the detonator she had place under the table. Ahsoka slices out the detonator and Force pushes it out of the window. Padme knocks the bounty hunter out with pottery.
Significance: Arthurian don’t use utensils. First appearance of Cato Parasitti outside the Clone Wars.

Episode 6: Beasts of Echo Base

First aired on July 7, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:49
Summary: Leia and Artoo search for Chewie in Echo Base and find him held by a sleeping Wampa. Threepio calls and wakes it. While Leia provides a distraction, Chewie escapes and attempts to fix the door. The door doesn’t work until Artoo plugs in.
Significance: Shows how the Wampa’s who infiltrated Echo Base in a deleted scene from The Empire Strikes Back got trapped in the room. The deleted scene was canonised in a reference book, Star Wars: On the Front Lines.

Episode 7: The Stranger

First aired on July 9, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:33
Summary: Two stormtroopers demand a girl hand over her cat, claiming she’s in violation of the law. The girl refuses and the stormtroopers take it by force. Jyn Erso intervenes and leads them on a chase, eventually knocking four stormtroopers into a sewer and rescuing the cat. Jyn gives her real name when the girl asks who she is.
Significance: Jyn visited Garel. Code 310 is invoked when the stormtroopers confiscate the cat.

Episode 8: Bounty of Trouble

First aired on July 9, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:33
Summary: Leia is being escorted by two stormtroopers when she’s ‘captured’ by Sabine Wren. It’s actually a ruse to allow Leia to hand over intelligence on Imperial bases. As they transfer the data, infamous droid bounty hunter IG-88 appears and fires on them. Sabine distracts it and Leia returns to her stormtrooper escort, who fire on IG-88 as Sabine escapes with the intelligence.
Significance: Leia uses her position as a senator to get critical information to the rebels. Appears to be the first meeting between Sabine and Leia.

Episode 9: Newest Recruit

First aired on October 1, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 3:04
Summary: At Sabine’s request, Ketsu helps secure food for the rebellion. Sabine asks Ketsu to leave Black Sun and join the rebels, but Ketsu complains about the lack of action. Surprising them, they find stormtroopers and discover a baby was hidden in one of the crates. They fight off the stormtroopers and rescue the baby. Later, Sabine paints the rebel emblem on Ketsu.
Significance: Sabine’s friend Ketsu joins the Rebellion.

Episode 10: Tracker Trouble

First aired on October 2, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:18
Summary: The Falcon drops out of hyperspace and Rey voices concern Unkar Plutt planted a tracker on the Falcon. They find a tracker, but it arms itself to explode after Finn removes it. Chewie tosses it out an airlock and the jump into hyperspace just before it explodes.
Significance: Suggests the deleted scene in TFA where Unkar Plutt tracks the Falcon to Takodana did not happen.

Episode 11: Teach You, I Will

First aired on October 3, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:18
Summary: Ahsoka trains with her second blade against Anakin, but has trouble remembering to fight with both. Yoda asks to see what she’s learned. After several failures, Yoda tells her she must take what she was taught and make it her own. In the next duel, she successfully blocks Yoda using both sabers.
Significance: Glimpse of Ahsoka after building her second saber and some of her training.

Episode 12: The Starfighter Stunt

First aired on October 4, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:49
Summary: Ahsoka trains Padme in starfighter combat maneuvers. They’re attacked and Padme has to use her new skills to rescue Ahsoka.
Significance: First depiction of Padme flying in combat.

Episode 13: Accidental Allies

First aired on October 29, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:48
Summary: While trying to escape Garel, Sabine accidentally drops vital information. Jyn happens upon it and picks it up, but is pursued by Imperial stormtroopers. Sabine helps Jyn after she’s cornered and convinces her to give back the stolen map, despite Jyn’s reluctance.
Significance: Sabine and Jyn briefly met on Garel.

Episode 14: Imperial Feast

Duration: 2:48
Summary: During the celebration after the Battle of Endor, the Ewoks are preparing to eat captive stormtroopers. Leia sends Han to find an alternative meal for them. The quartermaster happens to be Hera and she forces Han to admit the Ghost is superior to the Falcon before giving him the rations and saving the Imperials.
Significance: Hera and the Ghost survive the Battle of Endor. Additionally, Han and Leia appear to know her quite well.

Episode 15: The Happabore Hazard

Summary: Rey bets Unkar Plutt she can bring a large piece of salvage to him. When Rey arrives, she discovers a large Happabore blocking the way. She discovers it has a large piece of machinery in its nose and removes it. The Happabore helps move it to a stunned Unkar.
Significance: Shows Rey’s compassion and determination as well as her relationship with Plutt.

Episode 16: Crash Course

First aired on November 1st, 2017 on YouTube
Duration: 2:18
Summary: Sabine and Hera meet with Ketzu on Garel. Ketzu borrows Sabine’s bike after wrecking hers and accidentally destroys it. Sabine forgives her, but presses her into helping her build a new one.
Significance: Character building for Sabine and Ketzu.

Season 2

Episode 1: Hasty Departure

First aired on March 19th, 2018 on YouTube
Duration: 2:17
Summary: Hera and Sabine liberate an Imperial shuttle, but because Sabine was rushing, they board the wrong ship and it’s full of troopers. Chopper flies the correct shuttle and rescues his friends mid-air.
Significance: Develops Hera and Sabine’s relationship a bit.

Episode 2: Unexpected Comapny

First aired on March 19th, 2018 on YouTube
Duration: 2:32
Summary: Ahsoka joins Anakin on a mission planned for just he and Padme. Anakin, upset at the intrusion, sets a quicker flight path that puts them in the path of a Separatist blockade. The three must put differences aside to get past the blockade.
Significance: Obi-Wan at least suspects Anakin and Padme’s relationship and Ahsoka clearly knows by the end of the short.

Episode 3: Shuttle Shock

First aired on March 19th, 2018 on YouTube
Duration: 2:02
Summary: On their approach to Canto Bight, Finn and Rose encounter a pod of creatures in the atmosphere. When a tentacle hits the shuttle and shorts out BB-8, Finn and Rose must work together to fix BB-8 and land the shuttle safely.
Significance: Finn is forced to learn to pilot on the fly (heh). Canto Bight evidently has giant flying jelly fish.

Episode 4: Jyn’s Trade

First aired on March 19th, 2018 on YouTube
Duration: 2:02
Summary: A Chadra-Fan child snatches Jyn’s kyber crystal necklace away and Jyn gives chase. When she finally catches the kid and retrieves her necklace, she realizes the child is just hungry and gives him her piece of fruit.
Significance: Jyn being kind.

Episode 5: Run Rey Run

First aired on March 19th, 2018 on YouTube
Duration: 2:32
Summary: While scavenging inside a Star Destroyer, Rey is cornered by Teedo who is on the hunt for a valuable part. Rey tries to warn Teedo the removal of the part will trigger the vessel’s collapse, but he does it anyway and she must help them both escape after Teedo is knocked out by falling debris. She succeeds and takes the part from Teedo before leaving.
Significance: More pre-TFA Jakku adventures and another demonstration of Reys’ compassion.

Episode 6: Bounty Hunted

First aired on March 19th, 2018 on YouTube
Duration: 2:17
Summary: Seeking help to free Han from Jabba, Leia, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 travel to Ord Mantell to meet with Han’s old friend Maz Kanata. Maz lures bounty hunter Boushh into a firefight and Leia can obtains his helmet and armor for a perfect disguise.
Significance: Leia’s first meeting with Maz and answers how she got Boushh’s armor and thermal detonator. Also first to show Han talked to Maz somewhat regularly before ESB.

Episode 7: The Path Ahead

Duration: 2:47
Summary: Struggling with his Jedi training, Luke is grateful for master Yoda’s offer to join him on a sojourn through the trees and swamps of Dagobah, until he learns that Yoda will be riding in his backpack. Minding Yoda, Luke learns to trust what he feels instead of what he thinks he sees while he ventures through Dagobah.
Significance: Luke learns to see with the Force. Mark Hamill voices young Luke.

Episode 8: Porg Problems

First aired on March 19th, 2018 on YouTube
Duration: 1:32
Summary: As Rey struggles to force lift stones, a curious porg snatches her lightsaber! Rey gives chase and force lifts the porg before it can dive into the water with her saber. Rey thanks the porg for the unexpected help in her training.
Significance: Rey doing some self-driven training.
